These terms cover the Better Piano Studio at studio.betterpiano.com and our website, betterpiano.com, both run by Cornell Music Academy, LLC ("we", "us"). Using them means you agree to these terms. We kept them short and plain on purpose.
Your account
- You sign in with your email and a code we send you. No passwords. That means anyone who can read your email can sign in as you, so keep your email account secure.
- One person per account, please. Don't share your sign-in.
- Kids are welcome. If your child is under 13, you set up the account with your own email and you're the account holder.
- Keep your display name and picture friendly. We may change a name or take someone off the Practice Wall if they aren't.
What you get
- Studio Lite is free for everyone. A free account adds syncing and a few extras. The full Studio comes with the Better Piano System. We also invite some people in directly, like beta testers. That access is ours to give, and it can end.
- The Studio is in beta. We improve it constantly, features change, and now and then something breaks. We back up saved progress every day, but please keep your own copy of anything you can't replace, like long lesson notes.
Purchases and refunds
- The Better Piano System is sold through our store at shop.betterpiano.com, which runs on Teachable. Teachable handles checkout and payment, and its terms cover the purchase itself.
- Every purchase comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If the course isn't for you, email [email protected] within 30 days of buying for a full refund.
Our content, your stuff
- The lessons, videos, exercises, courses and the Studio itself belong to us. Your access is a personal license to use them for your own learning. Please don't copy, share, resell or post them, or share your access.
- Your notes, your practice and anything else you put in the Studio stay yours. You let us store and use them only to run the Studio for you. When you send a problem report or a support message, we may use it to fix and improve the Studio.
Play fair
Don't try to break or overload the Studio, get around the sign-in or the human check, copy the library or the videos in bulk, use someone else's account, or use the Studio for anything illegal. We can suspend or close an account that does.
Live workshops
Our live workshops are free. Times can change, and a spot isn't a promise of a seat if a session fills up. The workshop link is for you, so please don't pass it around.
Ending
You can stop using the Studio whenever you like and ask us to delete your account. We can change or retire parts of the Studio, and we can close an account that breaks these terms.
The legal part
- We work hard to keep the Studio running and your data safe, but we provide it as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
- As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.
- Colorado law, in the United States, governs these terms. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Denver, Colorado.
Changes
When these terms change, we'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change matters, we'll email members before it takes effect. Using the Studio after that means you accept the new terms.
